to our ears of the ages of long ago and the air we breathe
is full of the dust and fragrances of the past, as also of
the fresh and piercing winds of the present. The eternal
Yamuna has witnessed the glory and the tumultuous history
of the 3000 year old Delhi.

Day 2-3 |
Rajasthans
beautiful Pink City Jaipur, was the stronghold of a clan
of rulers whose three hill forts and series of palaces in
the city are important attractions. Known as the Pink City
because of the colour of the stone used exclusively in the
walled city, Jaipur's bazaars sell embroidered leather
shoes, blue pottery, tie and dye scarves and other exotic
wares. Western Rajasthan itself forms a convenient
circuit, in the heart of the Thar desert which has shaped
its history, lifestyles and architecture.

Amber Fort; Govind Devji Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna,
Lakshmi Narayan and Ganesh Temples; Albert Hall; City

National Park |
Day 4-5 |
Ranthambore
Natioanal Park, Tiger Reserve in the Rajasthan state of
India, comprises distinct areas with varied conservation
history and virtually separated geographically with mere
narrow corridors linking them to the core, Ranthambore
National Park. These are mainly, the Ranthambore National
Park, Keladevi Sanctuary and Sawai Mansingh Sanctuary.

Agra |
Day
6 |
Agra is famous
as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the world-the
Taj Mahal. The architectural splendour of the mausoleums,
the fort and the palaces is vivid reminder of the opulence
of the legendary Mughal empire, of which Agra was the
capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries. While its
significance as a political center ended with the transfer
of the capital to Delhi in 1634 by Shah Jahan, its
architectural wealth has secured its place on the
international map.
Activities
Visit the Taj
Mahal at sunrise and sunset, the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah,
the Agra Fort, the Akbar Mausoleum in Sikandra and
Fatehpur Sikri. Enjoy a decorated tonga ride through the
fabled city. |

Orchha |
Day
7 |
Orchha today is
a sleepy little hamlet but it was once the capital city of
the mighty Bundelkhand Empire. From time immemorial,
Bundelkhand has been an important destination for all
sorts of tourists and travellers. Orchha as it stands
today, was founded in the 16th century a.d. by the Bundela
chieftain, Rudra Pratap. The Bundelas were a warrior tribe
who traced their ancestry to a medieval Rajput prince who
sacrificed his life for the mountain goddess, Vrindavasini.
Activities
Visit the Raj
Mandir, Jahangir Palace and Ram Raja Temple. EI Special

Khajuraho |
Day 8-9 |
Situated in the
northern part of Madhya Pradesh, the town of Khajuraho has
been recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO. The
town is famous for its imperial temples. The temples were
built by the rulers of Chandela dynasty between 10th and
11th century. The construction of the temple just took
around 100 years to complete. There were around 85 temples
in the area but now only 22 exist.
Activities
Visit to the
stunning stone temple complexes, listed as a UNESCO World
Heritage Site; enjoy the educational sound and light shows
and the impressive Raneh Falls. |

Varanasi |
Day
10-11 |
The cultural
capital of India, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh is a major
center for spiritualism, mysticism, Hinduism and Indian
philosophy. Also known as Benares and Kashi, Varanasi is
one of the oldest surviving cities worldwide and an
important pilgrimage destination not only for Hindus, but
for Buddhists and Jains as well.
Activities
Enjoy morning
and evening boat rides on the Ganges; participate in an
enthralling Ganga Aarti; go on a tour of the various
temples and ghats; visit the ancient seat of wisdom
Sarnath and the Bharath Kala Bhawan. Visit a nearby hamlet
for glimpses into life in a village. |
